Thanks for your bug report. Could you try to get a valgrind log for the crash (you can follow the instructions on https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Valgrind)?

i try with valgrin but with this configuration:

G_SLICE=always-malloc G_DEBUG=gc-friendly valgrind -v --tool=memcheck --leak-check=full --num-callers=40 --log-file=valgrind.log

gimp don't crash!

The log has no sign of crash, do you still get the issue without using valgrind?

I've had the same problem on my gentoo box when using rezlooks gtk-engine after upgrading to gtk+ 2.12.0
this doesn't happen when using gtk+ 2.10

rezlooks, like ubuntulooks, is based on clearlooks engine so I think these errors could be related somehow.
rezlooks can be downloaded here: http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php?content=39179

I hope this was any help :)

Same behaviour here: gimp or some of its plugins keeps crashing randomly. If launched with G_SLICE=always-malloc it's stable as rock.

Please let know if I may help with debugging by sending more factual infos.

Problem seems to be solved with latest gutsy updates. I'm no more able to make gimp crash. Others?
