Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubuntu-wallpapers

http://www.arsgeek.org/2008/05/31/six-annoyances-in-hardy-heron-ubuntu/ reports: 'The "Hardy Heron" desktop background is sweet, but at 1920x1200 resolution it looks a little fuzzy, as if it had to be scaled up. I would recommend creating a very high-res desktop and then downscaling it so that it’s always sharp, even at the highest resolution.'

It looks like the wallpaper is 1600x1200 at the moment (which of course is a different aspect ratio, so some care would be required here ...).

Perhaps a SVG wallpaper could be used?

Does a SVG version of the intrepid default wallpaper exists?

I consider this fixed in Karmic:
go to /usr/share/backgrounds and run:
identify *
you'll see that most wallpapers are 1920x1280 (+- a few pixels)

Changed in ubuntu-wallpapers (Ubuntu):
