Since MapQuest shut down its service, the osm plugin for the Map QML type is broken: https:/
To reproduce it, make sure that you do not request tiles that are already in cache!

With Qt 5.5 there's a working MapBox plugin which could be used as a replacement for the MapQuest plugin. This could probably be backported quite easily.
