Bug Description

For testing purpose the device needs resources accessible via a VPN. There is no way to do it without tainting the device, or using an access point which already have a VPN up.

Could you please add openvpn by default on the devices.

seeding this would cost us around 1M on disk but this way at least commandline configuartion could be used to set up VPN access on devices

Is this functionality that we want on the phone for its own sake as a product, or only because of the current testing requirements? Do we risk adding this as a temporary workaround for internal development purposes, only to have users come to depend on it and objecting when we go to remove it again?

it is one of the main feature requests we get on IRC/G+... since we need the low level support anyway we can as well seed the bits now and make them work from commandline.

This is a feature that I use a lot in Android, useful for protecting the user when connected to a public wireless network.

@Jose Marcial Vieira, openvpn is already installed on the device but there is not user interface and you have to configure and start it from the command line (through adb, ssh or the terminal app). The user interface is coming soon.

also noticeable, you need to store the VPN credentials under /home/phablet somewhere ... the default config location isn't writable
