Bug Description

The internal drop-down menu for each program is unavailable because the text is only visible when I go above the mouse pointer.

LSB Version: core-9.20160110ubuntu0.2-ia32:core-9.20160110ubuntu0.2-noarch:security-9.20160110ubuntu0.2-ia32:security-9.20160110ubuntu0.2-noarch
Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description: Ubuntu 16.04.3 LTS
Release: 16.04
Codename: xenial
kernel: 4.4.113-0404113-lowlatency

OpenGL version string: 4.5.0 NVIDIA 384.111
medium version: 17.2.4-0Ubuntu1 ~ 16.04.4
The very confusing operation - the menu items are not visible! - It was most likely that the mesa package was upgraded at the end of January.

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v4.15 kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as "Confirmed".

Thanks in advance.

Dear Joseph!

On 01.23 you wrote this letter:"Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream stable kernel?
Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v4.4 stable kernel[0]./.../
[0] http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v4.4.113"

This did not help me ... Anyway, I basically (and still) use the 4.4 kernel version. Currently the last official update is: 4.4.0-112.135-generic

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following 'kernel-fixed-upstream' tags. I apologize but ... Where should I add the "tag"?! I apologize again, but the problem is very confusing for gtk+ programs; it makes it practically unmanageable where it occurs ... :(

Thank you in advance for your help!

This might be the solution --- at least the programs I use often in black background unreadable drop-down menus :)
You had to install and configure gtk-theme-config (1.2.1-0ubuntu1) (eg. https://imgur.com/XCnzSJr)

Unfortunately, I can not find the root cause, but it is sure that mesa and nvidia update came in at once, after which it happened.

Could be a side effect of the mesa upgrading. As tags does not list 'proposed', can you confirm the 17.2.4 mesa version used ?
lp:1747744

Might affect all the mesa greater than 17.2.3

They are in the PPA store before, but I do not know how compatible my signaling system was when I guessed the reason for two weeks after the previous update ...?
Another point is that it is not normal to overwrite the gnome for a download update .... (?!)
