Bug Description

It is currently not possible to globally enable/disable the transmission of the caller ID [1].

My cellular network provider does not transmit my number by default. A workaround [2] is to prepend *31# before each dialed number.

Phone: BQ Aquaris E4.5
Image: OTA 10.1

Try calling *#31# (without adding a phone number). That will give you the current state of CLIR. To activate / deactivate it use *31# and #31# (again, without phone numbers). Depending of the operator the code for switching on/off might be reversed.

@Alfonso Sanchez-Beato Thank you! I was not aware of this functionality.

Nevertheless, I still think that this functionality should be implemented in the phone settings somehow (for user convenience). Is "ofono" still the right place for this bug?

@8-mail-g, ubuntu-system-settings is the right place, I have added the package to the bug as wishlist.

Changed in ofono (Ubuntu):
status: New → Invalid
Changed in ubuntu-system-settings (Ubuntu):
importance: Undecided → Wishlist
