Bug Description

If two sim cards is used there is no possibility to switch each sim card on or off completely
(to completely activate or deactivate sim 1 and sim 2 separately).

Sim 1 and sim 2 inside:
Often I do not want to use both sim cards at the same time.
Sometimes it's needed that only sim 1 is active.
Sometimes it's needed that only sim 2 is active.
Sometimes it's needed that sim 1 and sim 2 is active.

So there should be the possibility to completely activate/deactivate sim 1 and sim 2 separately.
Would be nice in the context menu of the network indicator,
an on/off switch for sim1 and sim2.
Or at least in systemsettings.

Thanks for the report.
What is the advantage of disabling the sim completely for you? Why don't the preferred sim settings by usage satisfy your need?

Hi,
When I'm at work I use both sim cards, sim 1 (privat) and sim 2 (job) .
After work and at weekend I don't want to get calls from sim 2 (job).
So I would like to disable sim 2 for incoming calls for this situation.

Or have I something overlooked in settings to disable incoming calls from sim 1 or sim 2?

Thanks

Nope, you are correct there is nothing to disable incoming calls short of removing the sim

It would be an extremely useful feature to have!

In terms of design I guess you can just put a switch on the right side of the screen in each SIM's row (like for the "Flight Mode" and for the Wi-Fi).

Hi to ereryone

The SIM could be managed as in this screenshot of example

Good proposal. I would be interested too in such a possibility in order to separate work from private.
Thanks.

Pat, another motivation for this feature: The SIM cards I have are from 2 different countries, so very rarely (almost never) I use them both at the same time. I want to switch off one of the SIM cards manually so that my phone stops searching for its home network (and can thus save energy).

See the duplicate bug 1589706 for details.

I second Peter. I sometime find myself in places where one of the SIMs doesn't get any coverage & it leads to a rapid battery draining. One possible workaround is to have SIM PINs set and then rebooting the device without unlocking the unwanted SIM.

Any chance this is going to be implemented for OTA-14, or OTA-15?

Nobody assigned to this, and back to backlog? :-(

This is a valuable feature for dual-SIM phones. Really not an optional nice-to-have. I'd love to see this being assigned to a milestone again.

This is essential feature that DualSIM phones with ubuntu-touch OS must have now!!!
Please ubuntu-touch developers, work is this feature while you are working in snapd migration!
