Environment:
Product: Krillin bq Aquaris E4.5 Ubuntu Edition
Channel # build ubuntu-
Description:
Steps to reproduce the issue:
1.- Tap System Settings.
2.- Open Security & Privacy -> Lock Security -> 4-digit passcode.
2.- Choose a 4-digit passcode and then tap on passphrase.
3.- The existing code will be filled with “bullets” as if it would be already entered.
Expected result:
The “bullets” from the existing code in passphrase shouldn’t appear, per #1357548

AFAICS the only way we could change this in u-s-s itself would be to remove the input mask (which makes the input field only accept digits in the pin case) which is why the bullets are displayed. That might be okay on a phone since we tell the OSK to display digits only, but it'll mean we don't have input restriction when there's a keyboard.
For a proper fix, I think this has to be changed in the UITK really.
