Unfortunately the client.log file is not transferable from the phone because of bug 1376212. But I'm attaching a copy-and-paste of everything timestamped today, including downloading a system update.

The steps to reproduce the problem are in the description: this happens every time a system update arrives.
However, I'm 99% sure that none of that is necessary for fixing the bug. :-) Simply, there is some code somewhere that contains the string "There's an updated syst" (presumably "...system image" or something like that?), and the string "Tap to open the system updater." That code should not exist. If those strings had ever been in the design, they would not have been worded that way: there is nothing in the UI labelled "the system updater".

Unsure why it was done this way but at the moment unity8 doesn't allow to set a badge with a number I think, so without the notification we would have no visual clue out of the settings application itself that an update is available ...
in this case should we?
- keep things are they are
- keep it and change the wording
- remove the current notification and require users to enter settings
- something else

This isn't a problem with the system-image client.
