Bug Description

The iso for trusty lacks the virtualbox-guest-dkms package and hence cannot be tested or used under virtualbox without an internet connection.

affected version: amd64 daily build as of march 3 2014

expected behavior: virtual-box-dkms must be installable from the iso directly as it is a necessary open source driver.

Rationale for inclusion:
VirtualBox is the only only cross platform virtual machine that is both open source and capable of running Unity3d or Gnome Shell. Without this driver, Unity is completely unusable in the default installs on virtualbox.

@jsalisbury I think this is more important than just a wishlist. Bundling a driver for ANY other hardware platform wont be relegated to a wishlist status. I''m sorry If I come across as petulant and rude ( :P ) but I believe this is VERY important for two reasons:

1) easy debugging by regular users. (Try making a fresh install and doing anything with the unity based ubuntu.. waiting for any of the lousy animations appear in slow motion makes one want to just shut it and give up)

2) There a vast number of new users who don't use ubuntu because they are scared it will eat their hard drive (and they are right to be scared, I've seen it happen all too often even as late as one month ago despite the improvements we make to the install process) Even if they do make a dual boot, they never use it because it is a pain rebooting each time they need a windows app. I think being able to recommend virtual box to these souls at the very fringes of salvation is a good thing.

All it requires is that 3 extra packages totaling just over 1MB to be dropped into the CD so that they can be detected and installed automatically if someone uses virtualbox.

This is not a kernel problem. If anything it is related to the ubuntu desktop or server seed.
