Bug Description

I think we need more information about what to look for and how to solve issues in /var/log/dist-upgrade/main.log and /var/log/dist-upgrade/apt.log. Simple asking that we look there is not enough information to help resolve the issue - some specifics or examples would be helpful - you could for instance generate an additional log file or ReadMe for how to debug or correct typical issues that arise with upgrade failure that require examining the main.log or apt.log to resolve - with short faqs or examples of what to look for in general and how to go about it.

I get the following when I try to upgrade from Ubuntu 22.04 Jammy Jellyfish to 23.10 Mantic Minotaur

~$ sudo do-release-upgrade

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears to be a "regular" (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy. Please feel free to report any other bugs you may find.
