Bug Description

I upgrade my laptop from 23.04 to 23.10, on Nov 14. After the upgrade, the snap-store snap is not tracking the 23.10 channel. In fact it's still tracking the 22.10 channel, probably meaning that I had a similar issue when I upgraded from 22.10 to 23.04, which I had not noticed!

Note this specific laptop was initially setup with the 22.10 ISO.

Checking snap-store info after the 23.10 upgrade:

refresh-date: 2023-05-29
channels:
  latest/stable: 41.3-71-g709398e 2023-04-28 (959) 12MB -

installed: 41.3-71-g709398e (959) 12MB -

Note that the following snaps seem to be tracking the appropriate channel, FWIW.

I experienced the same thing while upgrading from lunar to mantic on 14 November.

In my case, snap-store was tracking latest/stable after the upgrade, and I believe before as well.

A snap refresh of snap-store to latest/stable/ubuntu-23.10 solved the issue for me.

My system happens to be originally a 22.10 install, but it may be the case that I manually changed which channel snap-store was tracking at some point. I'm not sure if the u-r-u is more hesitant to change snap channel tracking if the channel has been manually set by the user.

Additionally, the firmware-updater snap was successfully installed and tracking latest/stable/ubuntu-23.10 after the upgrade -- I did not see the problems with firmware-updater which are tracked in #2036765 and #2039268.
