Bug Description

When attempting to upgrade to 20.04.2 from 18.04, I receive an error message that "Ubuntu could not calculate the upgrade". I attempted ppa-purge on a few ppas hoping that might address the issue, do not seem to have any broken packages and sudo apt upgrade and update run clean. I checked /var/log/dist-upgrade main.log and apt.log but nothing jumps out at me as to what is causing the issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA.

Thanks for taking the time to report this upgrade failure. There is currently a new version of the release upgrader available in -proposed which may resolve the error you've encountered. Please run the following command to test the new version of the upgrader:

  do-release-upgrade -p

Please lets us know the results in this bug report. Thanks again and good luck!
