Trying to upgrade from 18.04 LTS to 20.04 LTS

Trying to upgrade using 'sudo do-release-upgrade -d'. Had 3 PPAs installed in 18.04 but removing them using ppa-purge or apt-add-repository --remove does not remove this block to the upgrade.
