Bug Description

The upgrade process failed with the gui and requested to use the ppa-purge and gave a message regarding the wireguard ppa.
I removed all the additional ppa's and the ran sudo do-release-upgrade which resulted in the message to run ubuntu-bug ubuntu-release-upgrader-core which brought me to the bug report process and this page.
Sorry if I dont have all the details.

The release upgrade failed to calculate because you have installed nodejs from a location other than the official Ubuntu archive. This version of nodejs is greater than the one in the archive and is keeping some python packages installed which then prevents the upgrade from being calculated. Please remove nodejs and then try the upgrade again.
