Ubuntu unable to come out of Sleep mode

Bug Description
Ubuntu once goes into sleep mode, doesn't come out of that mode. It just gets hung on to black screen when I try to resume work. I have to force shutdown the system and start again.
This problem started one year back when I had upgraded to Bionic release.
