14.04 LTS does not upgrade to 16.04 LTS

I am attempting to upgrade my computer's operating system from 14.04 LTS to 16.04 LTS but, in trying to upgrade my computer's operating system four times or more, each and every time that I try to upgrade my computer's operating system, the following message always displays and I am, therefore, unable to upgrade my computer's operating system as was promised by Ubuntu: "Could not calculate the upgrade

An unresolvable problem occurred while calculating the upgrade.

 This can be caused by:
 * Upgrading to a pre-release version of Ubuntu
 * Running the current pre-release version of Ubuntu
 * Unofficial software packages not provided by Ubuntu

If none of this applies, then please report this bug using the command 'ubuntu-bug ubuntu-release-upgrader-core' in a terminal."

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears to be a "regular" (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy. Please feel free to report any other bugs you may find.
