Other info. This install has wayland ppa. Could that affect the upgrader?

I have ppa. would that effect it.

I'm guessing it must have been the result of a PPA or other edit made to the OS because I did a fresh install of Wily this AM, then after updating and rebooting I performed a release upgrade and all went perfectly.

I think sometime in the near future I'll open a wish list bug about ubuntu-release-upgrader purging PPA's rather than just disabling them. Or maybe at least listing the PPA's via:

And then recommending that the user purge them and reboot before performing the upgrade.
