Bug Description

Description: Ubuntu 15.10
Release: 15.10

I wanted to test a Release upgrade in sandbox on a different fodler than /tmp
So I though I could use the options --sandbox --data-dir=/home/thomas/sandbox
But it turn out it didn;t work, in fact it even crashed the do-release-upgrade

My command is probably wrong but it would be better to exit nicely rather than crash :-P

Cheers
Thomas
