Bug Description
Running Kubuntu 15.04. I got the update prompt, but the update fails after finishing step 2 (configuring new update sources I believe). I disabled all 3rd party sources from package mmanager and tried again, but it didn't help. Reboot also did not help.

I had an xorg-edgers PPA previously, but i removed it and used the one provided by Ubuntu for faster nvidia driver updates:

I'll try to remove that one and see if that helps.

No dice, but perhaps I'm doing something wrong. I'm attaching the result of running:
grep ^ /etc/apt/
Please tell me what and how to clean anything up.

It is not enough to just disable third party sources, you also need to ensure that the packages provided by the third party source are not versions greater than the release to which you are trying to upgrade. You could use the tool ppa-purge to disable the PPAs and downgrade the package versions to the ones from vivid.
The issue is likely the with some xserver-xorg packages you have installed.
