Bug Description
Description: Ubuntu 14.10
Release: 14.10
sysv-rc:
Installed: 2.88dsf-41ubuntu18
Candidate: 2.88dsf-41ubuntu18
I expected the kubuntu upgrade manager to upgrade the
package but the script or whatever it is exited with status code 1.
so basically I had to migrate the system
myself to the new LSBInitScripts System and Dependency Based Booting,
but I am not new to compiling code and stuff ...
but for the "normal user" this would be quite the end of his installations lifetime.
I had to remove one init script (virtualbox) because it caused a loop in insserv
and I had to edit the init script file of virtuoso-nepomuk and add " END INIT INFO"
because the maintainer forgot as mentioned above (this is the complete way how I got rid of the bug)
and then I said "dpkg --configure sysv-rc" - the migration worked ... then I set up all the half-installed
packages from the distribution upgrade. Now everything is working again.
hth anyone
kind regards
insserv log before migration worked:
info: Converting rc0.d/S* and rc6.d/S* to K*.
ls: cannot access S*: No such file or directory
ls: cannot access S*: No such file or directory
info: running insserv
insserv: script virtualbox: service vboxdrv already provided!
insserv: script virtualbox: service virtualbox already provided!
insserv: Script virtuoso-nepomuk is broken: missing end of LSB comment.
insserv: exiting now!
