Bug Description

***********
DESCRIPTION
***********
After downloading the upgrade files during the standard upgrade process, the release updater is unable to recover the entry «commercial/binary-i386/Packages» expected in the file «Release» for any source in the "sources.list" file. After this, the release upgrader chooses to keep the old installed files instead.

****************
RELEVANT DETAILS
****************
The release upgrader suggests this bug is due to two possible reasons:
1. A missing line in sources.list
2. sources.list is corrupted

DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.04

It will also be useful if you can execute the following command, as it will automatically gather debugging information, in a terminal:
apport-collect BUGNUMBER
When reporting bugs in the future please use apport by using 'ubuntu-bug' and the name of the package affected. You can learn more about this functionality at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReportingBugs.
