K53E volume hardware shortcuts not working

Bug Description

When I try to use function+f11 and function+f12 to raise and lower the volume of my system, nothing happends. These key strokes worked as expected in beta 1. I have an Asus K53E.

I found the answer. The fix is here.

If this is not already in the kernel, I think it should be added. The K53E is not the only model with this issue.
