Bug Description

Hi

currently ubuntu-desktop recommends many programs which have alternatives (like rhythmbox) instead of depending directly on them, so the user that preferes another program (like banshee) can remove it and install the alternative program. I think gthumb should fall in this category since ubuntu-desktop already provides f-spot (which by the way is recommended). I know it's possible to remove ubuntu-desktop, but I'd rather not do it if it's possible (which it is for other programs)

thanks

I think there was a spec on ubuntu about adding more flexibility to default applications installed (recommended by ubuntu-desktop and not forced) Anyone remembers what spec was that? Is there any plan to continue with it?

thanks
