Keyboard and trackpad unresponsive after install of Ubuntu i386

Bug Description

Affected computer - Macbook Pro, intel, 2 gb ram, 17 in screen.
Installed Ubuntu precise-desktop-i386.iso 20120309, resized, along side a working copy of Lubuntu.
Keyboard and trackpad unresponsive, won't accept any keystrokes, trackpad doesn't work.

Attached external keyboard and mouse, the external keyboard and mouse works.

I just applied all system updates and the keyboard and trackpad work, somewhat. Seems as if the keyboard is overly sensitive, the cursor jumps around the screen, hard to explain
