Bug Description
Binary package hint: ubuntu-desktop
Unity needs to be an option in Edubuntu.
edubuntu-desktop depends on ubuntu-desktop, ubuntu-desktop depends on unity
If unity was a recommend, then everything in Ubuntu will still be fine and Edubuntu would be able to make it an optional add-on as it is currently.
Please consider changing it, Colin Watson suggests that doing so would be more in line with standard seed practices, snippet from IRC conversation:
2010-12-01:
14:56 < highvoltage> Is there any reason why ubuntu-desktop depends on unity (as apposed to recommending it)?
14:57 < highvoltage> we need to have unity available as an option in Edubuntu, and it's kind of hard to make it just optional when edubuntu-desktop depends on ubuntu-desktop
14:59 < cjwatson> Recommends would seem more in keeping with standard seed practices, certainly
Marked as wont-fix. In Edubuntu we're working around this and I doubt it will be much of an issue for anyone else.
