Bug Description
ubuntu-desktop depends on network-
I want to uninstall NetworkManager because it breaks NIS (bug 50430).
Can't do that as long as ubuntu-desktop (indirectly) depends on NetworkManager.
So please downgrade ubuntu-desktop's network-

The applet was removed, but currently network-manager itself is set as recommended. Marking as fixed.
