Bug Description

I've been running Ubuntu 9.04 32 bit (fresh install) since it came out. In the last week or so (after updating the system after the summer holiday), I've been having a problem with the power management (at least that's where I think the problem is): when I leave the computer idle for some time (I haven't measured it yet), the screen goes blank, like always. But now, I am unable to turn the screen back on, leaving me unable to use the computer. No ctrl+alt+del works, I have to hold the power button to turn the system of, then on again.

I've tried disabling the screensaver, and turning off power saving features (like blank screen after X minutes), but it doesn't help. I've looked at bug #338051, but they seem to be able to regain control of the system. I don't, at all.

On kernel 2.6.28-14-generic . Tell me what other information you need.

Thanks for your time!
