Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubuntu-desktop

I use Gutsy Gibbon.

This is a request, presumably for the next release, to package up the pptpconfig package from quozl.netrek.org.

network-manager-pptp has some severe limitations, not the least it's refusal to connect unless it can see the underlying connection, which it can't when the underlying connection is dialup.

i second that, the pptp part of network manager is useless in some universities(take Bremen for an example)
where the students can't connect to the universities pptp-server with networkmanager-pptp,
while they can connect with pptpconfig. What's going on there guys, why does pptpconfig work where networkmanager should work too, but doesn't?

Thanks for reporting, but according to [1], pptpconfig is deprecated, and thus is probably not suitable for inclusion. For requesting new packages in Ubuntu, please follow the procedure listed at [2] in the future.
