Bug Description
Binary package hint: ubuntu-desktop
At this site, there are a bunch of scripts that make xml files smaller.
http://
The interesting thing is that when you apply this to xml files used by desktop applications, they tend to start-up faster.
Applications like rhythmbox start up about 2x (if your library is large enough)
He has scripts for gconf, gnome, evolution, rhythmbox, etc.
Perhaps, its a good idea to run these scripts every midnight or something by default?

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Can you try with latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.
