Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue for you? Thanks in advance.

Yes, I think that the live CD shoud be used as system rescue CD.

But I cannot mention enough details to enable a correction. I only see that the CD-Recorder was not recognised by the live CD, even if K3B was installed.

I used a smbfs instead.

I think that asking a Internet connection to share filesystem using samba is not a good think. If the packetage "samba" should be included in the CD. Permetting direct share with other computer on a LAN.

Thank you for your suggestion.

However, the changes you are requesting aren't really a bug and require more discussion, which should be done on an appropriate mailing list or forum. http://www.ubuntu.com/support/community/mailinglists might be a good start for determining which mailing list to use.

I don't see why this isn't a valid bug against ubuntu-meta, even if it does need further discussion.

Today the install CD includes clients for both samba and ssh. Both can be used to send the files to another machine.

In Nautilus (file manager), go to File -> Connect to server -> sftp://<ip address>
