unexpected message: 'Sharing services are not installed'

= 1. The issue and a proposal =

A slip of the wrist in the Gnome right-click context menu can mean 'Share Folder' instead of 'Move to Trash'. I did that. My suggestion to avoid confusion is to change the wording of the first message slightly. The first dialog is currently:

I suggest it be changed to something similar to:

= 2. How I got this far =

Here's what happened:
I was deleting lots of files, too quickly for my clumsy mouse movements as it turns out, and accidentally choose 'Share Folder' instead of 'Move to Trash' from the right click options menu. 'Move to Trash' is one above 'Share Folder'.

Because I was installing a bunch of things at the same time, sudo had my password and remembered it. This meant that although I didn't mean for it to happen my system began the process of making it possible to share a folder over a network. And it did that very well - but caught me by surprise. So I've suggested the changes in section 1.

= 3. My original bug report =

This 'bug'? showed up without warning and I don't know why...
The message I receive is as follows:

I have no idea why I got this message. I was just deleting large amounts of files (old video files) from a locally mounted FAT32 partition while 'Add/Remove programs installed a large batch of code editors for me to play with. My first guess was that I'd run out of space in Trash so it was trying to delete them locally on the FAT32 partition - but as far as I can see there is still 5.5Gb of space - and the folder I just went to delete is under 1GB.

I'm now selecting close to avoid installing the network services. Now I get the message below with the 'OK' option.

'/media/sda7/video/2006-06_mpeg' is not a regular file but a directory.

I also get the message below with the options to either 'Cancel' or 'OK'

| Share through: Do not share
-----------------------

'Do not share' is part of a drop down menu but no other options are possible.

I choose 'OK' to both options and it all goes away. Everything works fine.

I have the same problem :

"error accessing 'file:///media/hda6/Mes%20vid%C3%A9os': Accès denied"

When I want to share folders who are on a ntfs partition...

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Can you try with latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.

The context menu has been changed in 8.10 and so have the dialog texts. Marking fixed.
