Bug Description

Ubuntu Mate 17.10 Beta 1 Live CD

Steps:
1. open mate tweak and change to Redmond layout
2. notice disk mounter applet icons for partitions get added to panel

I dont think its good to include partitions icons in the panel, as it clutters the area where the window list and notification area occupies, and for me with 2 windows partitions and 4 linux partitions, i have to remove each of these icons manually.

Hello

There is a Feature Request upstream for this since 2012:

https://github.com/mate-desktop/mate-applets/issues/24

I agree that advanced control on what is showed would be nice to have.
I'll see if we can post a bounty on it.

Yousuf, what do you mean by "i have to remove each of these icons manually"? Do you get one applet for each partition? Or how fo you remove those icons?

The disk mounter applet is behaving as intended. It was added to the Redmond layout by user request to better mimic Windows behaviour during the 17.10 development cycle. One solution it to remove it from the Redmond layout.
