Etienne Papegnies (etienne-papegnies) wrote : [Zesty] missing dnsmasq package breaks NetworkManager connection sharing feature

Network settings in Zesty allow users to define a connection as "Shared to other computers", this does not currently work in Ubuntu MATE 17.04 Beta 2.

The reason, from the logs is that dnsmasq binary, from dnsmasq package is not present:

Apr 11 20:37:22 Edge NetworkManager[946]: <info> [1491935842.1052] Executing: /sbin/iptables --table nat --insert POSTROUTING --source ! --destination --jump MASQUERADE

ouroumov@Edge:~$ apt-cache policy dnsmasq

After installing package dnsmasq, connection sharing works again as expected.
