Bug Description

Binary package hint: gdm

After applying today's updates it seems that the GDM login screen will no longer load properly as it gets stuck in a brown screen with some CPU activity going on.

The only way I was able to get into Gnome was by switching to a tty, killing gdm and then starting the x-session manually although this has created additional problems since gksudo no longer works properly as I get a problem about the Xauthority file not being able to be copied.

If any more information is required I would be more than happy to provide them.
