Bug Description

After recent update of Ubuntu 14.04LTS using software updater built-in notebook display in multi-display configuration keeps showing boot screen(or splash screen) after power-on/restart. Problem is fixed after I turn the display off and on afterwards using System Settings->Displays. I found the problem few months ago in trusty-proposed repository updates. After I uninstalled all "proposed" it was fixed again.
Problem was moved to standard updates now.

problem seems to be in package ubuntu-drivers-common...
upgrading it from v0.2.91.5 to v0.2.91.6 from trusty-proposed repo on Jun 27th caused the same problem as upgrading it from v0.2.91.5 to v0.2.91.7 from trusty-updates this time
I was only able to downgrade it to v0.2.91.4 using synaptics. However, problem is gone... Everythig works fine now...

affects: unity (Ubuntu) → ubuntu-drivers-common (Ubuntu)

the problem becomes showstopper in 15.10 and 4K display on pure new installation on Thinkpad P50
