Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubuntu-docs

Here https://help.ubuntu.com/10.10/printing/C/scanning.html#id2913381

In the last line replace this:
Save the file and open Xsane (Applications → Graphics → XSane Image Scanner). Your scanner will hopefully work.

with this
Save the file and open Simple Scan (Applications → Graphics → Simple Scan). Your scanner will hopefully work.

Bye

Attached a simple patch fixing this bug in the default language by replacing XSane with Simple Scan.

Thanks for your patch, Robert. It looks great so I have applied it to the Natty dev branch, rev 588.

I see that this is an issue in the Maverick release, do you know if this is a problem in Lucid? My Lucid install contains both XSane and Simple Scan, so I can't confirm if XSane is available by default in Lucid.

I have a default install of Lucid in a VM and can confirm that it contains only simple-scan and not xsane.

thank you,

@Connor Imes : probably, you have xsane because you have doing an advace of version (9.10 -> 10.04). By default lucid contain only simplescan
