how to set up touchpad settings so that eliminate irritating scrolling functionality of the middle button and add essential functionality to paste the text on the middle button click?
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/SynapticsTouchpad instructions was not useful
System ->Prefferences ->Touchpad all scrolling (except the latest which always turned on automatically) turned off
in xorg.conf:
Section "InputDevice"
Identifier "Synaptics"
Driver "synaptics"
Option "CorePointer"
Option "Device" "/dev/input/event3"
Option "Protocol" "Explorer PS/2"
Option "Buttons" "3"
Option "Emulate3Buttons" "true"
....
(different configurations were tried, no effect)
have the latest version of Ubuntu(9.04) installed
Paste text works with an external mouse
thank you in advance for help
=======================
doesn't work with Fedora 10 as well (had no problems in Fedora8)

Please document more touchpad options in the Hardware section of the docs for Lucid (see the newer version of gnome-mouse-preferences in Lucid for added functionality). Also suggest the gsynaptics package for more advanced configuration.
