Bug Description

When one views any page of the community documentation, they can see 5 tabs. Four of those point the official documentation and and one to the main page of the community docs.

The problem is that the links(tabs) to official documentations haven't been updated since 8.04. There is no link to the official documentations for 8.10 and 9.04. There should be.

The problem is that you are using the old theme for help.ubuntu.com/community

As a workaround you can change your theme from your preferences.

To resolve the bug we need to remove the old theme.

This is fixed in the default wiki theme in that there aren't any tabs shown for different versions. Are we going to remove the old "ubuntu" theme (or simply overwrite it with the "ubuntunew" theme) before we close this bug?

Yes, I think we need to remove the old theme as there are clearly some people still using it by default.

Apparently I'm still using this theme, since I still see 6.06 LTS, 7.10, 8.04 LTS, Community Docs.

Why should this depend on the theme anyway? The set of tabs to show shouldn't be "hardcoded" in the theme, since it will presumably change every 6 months, and updating/adding/removing themes should be independent of a new release being released or an old release being retired.

(aside: I changed 'ubuntu' to 'ubuntunew' but am going to switch back to 'ubuntu' because it fills up the page horizontally completely, while 'ubuntunew' wastes space. I hope the old theme will be fixed (or rather, the system of the theme being related to the releases whose tabs are shown is fixed) , rather than removed)

No, sorry but we won't maintain the old theme any more. Since the new theme doesn't use the tabs any more, there is no point implementing a system of automatic updating of tabs.

I also didn't like the new theme as much when it came out, but I got
used to it pretty quickly, and it is a lot cleaner and more professional
looking than the old one. Try it out for awhile and see what you think
after giving it some time.

I've submitted a request to the Ubuntu sysadmins to remove the "ubuntu" theme.

The old "ubuntu" theme has now been removed from the community help wiki. I'll mark this as fixed.
