Bug Description

The instructions for automatically playing a CD or DVD upon insertion need to be updated to reflect actual current menu items, etc. in Ubuntu 24.04 LTS. The current instructions reference non-existent GUI features; when I tried to guess what to do, it did not actually work (more below about that).

Specifically, for the steps listed at https://help.ubuntu.com/stable/ubuntu-help/files-autorun.html.en :

1. It says to search for "Removable Media" in Activities but it is now called "Removable Drives and Media".

2. It says Select Settings->Apps but there is no "Settings" in the dialog.

There are tabs labeled Storage, Multimedia, Cameras etc. I'm guessing "Multimedia" is the right one...

3. It says Select Default Apps ... but there is no "Default Apps" item. Under "Multimedia" there is a place to select commands to run when various kinds of media are inserted.

It allows specifying a bare command name or a full path such as /usr/bin/abcde, but does not say whether arguments can be passed to the command or how to interpolate the cdrom drive path into the args.

4. It says to set the "Automatically Lunch Apps" switch in the "Removeable Media" section, but there is no such section.

(By the way, checking "Play audio CDs when inserted" under 'Multimedia' does not seem to work; the CD is just mounted as a CDROM and appears in the sidebar; I do *not* have "Mount removable media when inserted" checked under "Storage" so it is mystery whey this happens. Presumably the old instructions are just wrong or missing some key step which is now needed to auto-play audio CDs.)

5. This step discusses an "Open folder" option which does not exist in the dialog.

6. This step discusses an "Other Media" button which does not exist.
