Bug Description

I use Ubuntu 24.04 LTS

in the menu: privacy & security - lock screen the blank screen delay setting is set to never, automatic screen lock is off, lock screen on suspend is off
in the power menu: power saving: screen off is marked as never, auto sleep is off.

But still my screen keeps turning off by itself after a short period of time and worse, my programs all close. How to resolve this?

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better.

Bug reporting is about finding & fixing problems thus preventing future users from hitting the same bug.

I suspect a Support site would be more appropriate, eg. https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu. You can also find help with your problem in the support forum of your local Ubuntu community http://loco.ubuntu.com/ or asking at https://askubuntu.com or https://ubuntuforums.org, or for more support options please look at https://discourse.ubuntu.com/t/community-support/709

You've reported this as a documentation issue, but haven't provided details of which address/page where the documentation needs correcting. ie. Was it a page viewed after https://help.ubuntu.com/ and if so which page in ubuntu-docs needs correcting? and what exactly is the issue.

Are you seeking support? If so I suggest a support site, this question can be converted into a question which will change the emphasis to support (instead of current focus on fixing an issues with ubuntu-docs or documentation).
