Bug Description

In mouse-touchpad-click.html we say "If your touchpad supports multi-finger taps, ...". But does it or not? It's actually easy to determine a touchpad's capabilities using xinput. I give a link below. Could we document it briefly or give a link? Apparently the basics can be covered in about ten lines. I did a quick internet search but the best link I found was this one to the Arch Linux wiki (which I don't think we can link to from the desktop help!).

https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Touchpad_Synaptics#Using_xinput_to_determine_touchpad_capabilities

PS. The xinput output for my touchpad is:

 Synaptics Capabilities (295): 1, 0, 1, 0, 0, 1, 1

so my touchpad does not support multi-finger taps.

The text in mouse-touchpad-click.html referring to touchpads that support multi-finger taps should be removed in 17.04 (see Bug #1617718) so it will then be of less importance to determine touchpad capabilities. Some users might find it useful however. Determining touchpad capabilities is done via commands (not via the GUI) and the desktop help doesn't usually cover commands. I'd say that this bug is low priority.
