Bug Description

Apparently apt-get supports a "mirror://" method for automatically selecting the best repository server ( http://mvogt.wordpress.com/2011/03/21/the-apt-mirror-method/ ) and bug #601916 and bug #623444 specifically concern this method, but there's no mention of it in any documentation:
http://manpages.ubuntu.com/manpages/precise/en/man8/apt-get.8.html
http://manpages.ubuntu.com/manpages/precise/en/man5/sources.list.5.html

affects: apt (Ubuntu) → ubuntu-docs
affects: ubuntu-docs → ubuntu-docs (Ubuntu)
