Bug Description

The ubuntu-dev-tools package provides very useful scripts to get source for packages in debian and ubuntu, but a tool to get source from the Cloud Archive is also needed.

The attachment "lp1661324-zesty.debdiff" seems to be a debdiff. The ubuntu-sponsors team has been subscribed to the bug report so that they can review and hopefully sponsor the debdiff. If the attachment isn't a patch, please remove the "patch" flag from the attachment, remove the "patch" tag, and if you are member of the ~ubuntu-sponsors, unsubscribe the team.

Patch is still in development, please don't evaluate the debdiff yet.

Looks like Corey Bryant already wrote a similar 'pull-uca-source' script:
http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-dev/ubuntu-dev-tools/trunk/view/head:/pull-uca-source

however that one only uses the LP -staging PPAs, and doesn't support using binary package names. It also pulls the entire list of published sources in the PPA, and checks every single one, which presumably will take a bit longer than querying the PPA for the specific package.

Move devel to a git clone of the ubuntu-dev-tools bzr repo.

For this to land, I think we just need a DD to release ubuntu-dev-tools trunk into debian unstable and sync to Ubuntu. I'll remove the sponsors subscription.

So let's do this, then. I'm going to upload to experimental, then sync it

Although I have a question: I am totally unable to work with bzr behind very basic stuff. Would anyone feel particularly sorry if I/we were to move it to git? Now that launchpad supports it and so we could keep the same ACL it currently has (where all of ~ubuntu-dev can push)

I believe that the Ubuntu project in general is inclined to move to git where easy. I'm only one core-dev, but that's fine with me.

Yes, please move ubuntu-dev-tools to git (and update the Vcs package reference).

ah, so this bug wasn't added to the changelog, and I noticed only now.
Pity, so I'm marking as released now already, I just synced it, so it's now sitting in proposed, package version 0.158.

Thanks everybody who contributed!
