LATEST RELEASE TESTED: 0.9~b1-0ubuntu2

Binary package hint: ubufox

It seems Ubufox doesn't work properly with Firefox 3.6 on Lucid.

how to reproduce:

1. install mozilla-plugin-vlc or whatever video plugin for firefox (mplayer, xine...)
2. start firefox and visit a website with a video (non flash). I.e.: http://c-span.com/Watch/C-SPAN_wm.aspx
3. click on the "lego brick" on che bottom/right corner of firefox window

Another way:

tools > manage plugins

What is expected:

* user should be able to choose between plugins (i.e. vlc and totem)

What actually happens:

* the plugin list is empty

Please do not assign bugs to developers or nominate them yourself. The "Assigned to" feature is only used when a person is aware of the problem and is actively working on a fix. We ask that bug reporters do not change these.

Thanks for reporting this bug and any supporting documentation. Since this bug has enough information provided for a developer to begin work, I'm going to mark it as Triaged and let them handle it from here. Thanks for taking the time to make Ubuntu better! Please report any other issues you may find.

@asac
I tested this in a clean profile. I went to youtube.com and it won't show the current plugin.

I obtain the same results as before updated. The plugin manager detect that my computers needs some plugins but it does not find any plugin. In my case I tested with youtube. No flash player displays in the manage content pluginer: adobe nop gnash.

What output do you want for fixing this bug?

Thanks,

@guiodic: if I have to I install plugin-gnash or mozilla-sfwdec manually, then the plugin manager of firefox does not run.
Try to install beta 2 and update system and you will see that firefox does not detect plugins....
