Hello !

I had the same problem with the 3.0.7 Security Update on Ubuntu 64 bits.

You can try to change, in the settings->General, the option "Display my last used tabs" to "Display my home page".

It fixed the bug for me...

Tried changing the When firefox starts option but the "Your browser has been updated and needs to be restarted" message still keeps coming up. Permission are fine on my profile directory
