Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubufox

When I disable flashblock, the new "Manage Content Plug-ins" system works great: plugin icon in the status bar and the menu item in Tools is active.

When I enable flashblock, even after unblocking a piece of content by clicking on it, the plugin icon does not appear and the menu item in Tools remains inactive.

tricky issue as flashblock just removes the complete applet/embed/object html element and so we dont see any plugin at all.

A solution would be to listen for DOM mutation events to detect that there was a plugin element inserted when flashblock unblocks the plugin. But that would have performance impacts...

The same problem when using AdBlock extension, even when I disable it in it's own popup menu. AdBlock is used by hundreds of thousands of people.
Just to clarify - "Manage Content Plug-ins" does not work even if AdBlock hasn't removed any element (any flash, video, etc)! It is enough to just have it installed.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. This release has gone EOL and we also believe this issue is likely fixed in a new release.
