Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

Twice now after update-manager has upgraded firefox, I get the box saying 'Your browser has been updated and needs to be restarted.' with a Restart button. I restart firefox either with the restart button, or by closing and re-opening firefox, or by doing a 'killall firefox' and restarting it manually. After a few seconds, the box reappears (ie every time after I restart firefox).

The only change I've made to firefox's configuration is to edit the /etc/firefox-3.0/pref/firefox.js file and to add:

pref("browser.backspace_action", 0);
pref("accessibility.typeaheadfind.enablesound", false);
 (until I reboot).

Version information:

Intrepid 8.10 kernel 2.6.27-7-generic i386
firefox 3.0.3+nobinonly-0ubuntu2

i also have this after upgrading from 8.04 to 8.10.

i can't provide a list of the addons installed, because ff uses a modal dialog for the addons... bleh! but i have about 10-15 addons, including firebug, session manager, stack style tabs navigation, etc. i did not install any new addons when it broke.

It is doing it again after FF was upgraded to 3.0.4 today.

And it's still doing it even after completely rebooting Ubuntu! Now this is just silly!
