Bug Description

After upgrading to firefox 80, i found that webext-ublock-origin and webext-privacy-badger not working at all. They do not show on the status bar when starting up firefox but do show in the settings that the addons are enabled. webext-ublock-origin, for instance, is not blocking ads. However when i switch both addons OFF and ON again they immediately shows up on the status bar and start to work properly. But when i reboot the machine, i have to manually switch them OFF and ON to get them working again. This appears to be related to this debian bug https://<email address hidden>/msg1762004.html

Booted a recent Lubuntu groovy QA-test install; so firefox had been untouched. Firefox was 78.0.1+1-0build1

- sudo apt install webext-privacy-badger webext-ublock-origin
- loaded firefox; verified it (v78) worked as expected
- sudo apt update; sudo apt full-upgrade
- loaded firefox (v80 now) & it worked as expected

logged out, logged back in & firefox now has privacy-badger & ublock origin no longer listed. In Add-ons Manager however they are listed and working. I have to toggle them off, then back on to have them appear.

On closing program, they are both there temporarily but quickly disappear, requiring me to repeat process or else they aren't working.

My wording could have been clear sorry. (last two paragraphs reworded)

I have to toggle them off, then back on to have them appear on main firefox screen/dashboard & have them actually function.

Just came here to say that I'm still hitting this bug (ublock origin not showing up on firefox startup).
I'm using the webext-ublock-origin package on ubuntu 20.04 on a 2011 macbook air (x86-64).

My current workaround is to go to add-ons and disable then re-enable ublock origin after every firefox restart to get it to show up, but that's less than ideal.
