I also got this error, but at the beginning of the installation process. Since nothing had been installed I had no way of attaching any files. The only thing I noticed that might be helpful was the message "out of disk space" at the end of the trace, despite the fact that my root partition had 8GB.

I now have no way to continue the installation, which is quite frustrating.

I changed memory from GoodRAM to Kingston (the same capacity) and a problem dissapeared.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an iussue for you? The 18-month support period for Edge Eft 6.10 has reached it's end of life, so could you please try with latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.

I'm now running Hardy Heron (8.04), and it didn't show up for that. So I'd say not to worry about it now. Thanks for asking.
